Teens Involved

For those that don't know Word of Life has a program called Teens Involved.  All day long the students from the youth groups compete in singing, playing instruments, preaching, skits, puppets, illustrated evangelism memorization, question and answer and more. The youth group that, at the end of the day, wins the most points takes home first place!

This is a wonderful event that challenges and equips youth to use their spiritual gifts!

 We were asked to be the judges for the music portion of the competition. 

We had a wonderful time being judges and continue praying this ministry helps to equip youth to serve the Lord with their spiritual gifts!

Mexican Culture 101

I never knew that our new apartment would be the front row seat for one of the biggest celebrations here in our new town!


The festival for the Holy Cross.  It is a Catholic tradition and every year at the beginning of May people come from ALL over to celebrate the Holy Cross.

                                       The first day, a parade of dancing and an altar to Mary.  Women bring their flowers and candles.

Games for kids, food, beer, and more people than we had ever seen in our town before!

I wanted to share these pictures for two reasons...
1. Catholicism is real and Satan is taking the lives of people through this religion that is so similar to ours.  PLEASE pray for Mexico! Pray for those who are lost in their traditions that they would come to know the Lord as their one and only Savior!
2. Praise the Lord that we are not saved by works! The Mexican people have a 5 day festival to please God.  They work hard to please God but couldn't be further off track.  I praise the Lord for his GRACE in our lives!
For it is by Grace that we are saved not by works!

Counting Our Blessings!

Hi friends and family! 

We think of you always and thank the Lord for you everyday! We pray that you are doing well and walking closely everyday with out Savior!

The Lord's blessings have been overwhelming for Nef and I in this time!  He has provided each and every one of our needs!

God has provided our needs in our home....Soon to come pictures from our home here in Bernal where Word of Life base is located!

We were blessed to have my family here during the Mexico wedding!  Thanking the Lord for the opportunity to see my family and for the beautiful time we got to spend together!

We also praise the Lord for His provision for the wedding here in Mexico!  It was a beautiful and blessed time to share about God's love in our lives and celebrate with Neftali's family!

These are a few pictures of Nef's family. So that you can get to know them a little! 

(from left to right in the picture on the right) Niece- Jennifer, sister- Gisel, little brother - Lemuel, step-dad - hugo, us :), mom- Esther, sister- Ebene and little sister- maguie.  Please pray for the Salvation of Nef's step- dad Hugo. We have shared with him many times but we are praying for the Lord to do an amazing work in his life! 

And among all our blessings, the Lord answered our prayers by providing an offering that was given for us to have a beautiful honeymoon! We are SO grateful with the Lord for His blessings and had a beautiful time as husband and wife in Cancun!

We leave you this verse of encouragement!  Acts 11:23  ... "When he arrived and saw the evidence of the grace of God, he was glad and encouraged them all to remain true to the Lord with all their hearts".....  we see evidence of the grace of God in each and everyone of your lives and our prayer for ourselves and you is that you will remian true to the Lord with all your hearts!

In Mexico!

HI Friends and Family!

We are in Mexico!! Praise the Lord! Thank you all for your prayers and for being a part of our lives and our journey!

If you are reading this you can see that we started our first Blog! :) This is new territory for us but Lord willing this will be the best way to share about what God is doing in and through our lives!

As for now, we are spending this month with Nef's family in his hometown as we prepare for the wedding here in Mexico the 25th of March.  Thankfully we are able to help in Nef's church.  We are both helping lead the youth group and this past Saturday Nef was able to teach the lesson for the week. 

We are also starting our lives together little by little.  We moved into our home that the Lord provided for us last Wednesday.  On Thursday we received a couch and a few little tables, on sunday we got our first stove and Lord willing on Saturday we should be getting our mattress and refrigerator! :)  We praise the Lord for providing for all of our needs in this time!

We continue praying for each one of you and praying that everyday we will continue following the will of the Lord.
